Levels of Anesthesia
MINIMAL
Patients typically respond to spoken commands. Respiration is unaffected, although cognitive function and coordination may be impaired.
MODERATE
Patients under "Conscious Sedation" react meaningfully to verbal commands, either on their own or in combination with light stimulation. Most importantly, they won't remember much, if any, of their dental treatment.
DEEP / GA
Patients are in a drug-induced state of unconsciousness, allowing the doctors to work freely. Patients are able to wake following a short recovery period.
